Marit advises and litigates on commercial contracts and liability law, class actions and collective settlements and liability of financial institutions. She frequently represents banks, credit providers and insurers in various matters relating to financial laws and regulations.

Marit has substantial experience in litigating cases before the Dutch courts and the Financial Services Complaints Tribunal (Kifid). She also advises on proceedings before the Netherlands Commercial Court.

Marit is a board member of the Association of Young Litigators. She regularly publishes in scientific journals.

Recent matters that Marit has worked on include representing:

  • a broker in a Dutch class action on alleged manipulation of interest rate benchmarks.
  • several lenders on mortgage and revolving credit matters before the Dutch courts and Kifid.
  • a public utilities company in a Dutch class action on public interests.
  • a bank in civil court proceedings on an alleged duty of care violation.
