He is member of the board of the Vereniging voor Bouwrecht (Association of Construction Law), member of the board of Stichting Beroepsopleiding Notariaat (Foundation for the Vocational Training for the Notarial Profession), senior lecturer of the Grotius specialisation course in real estate law, editor in chief of the Groene Serie Zakelijke rechten (containing commentaries on the Dutch laws regarding rights in rem), editor of the Tijdschrift voor Bouwrecht (Magazine of Construction Law) and permanent contributor to the Weekblad voor Privaatrecht, Notariaat en Registratie (Weekly of Private law, Notarial law and Registration). In addition he frequently supervises and teaches postgraduate students.

Fokke Jan is editor of the L&L book ‘Investing in real estate in the Netherlands’, which aims to inform foreign investors on major civil law and tax aspects of investing in real estate in the Netherlands.
