Filip heads the Loyens & Loeff Employment & Benefits Practice Group in Belgium. He is also a member of the Automotive and Healthcare & Life Sciences Teams in Belgium and of the German and France Region Teams.
He has substantial experience in collective and individual employment law with a particular focus on company restructuring, executive compensation and employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.
He regularly speaks at conferences on (inter)national (cross-border) employment issues and has written various articles on such topics.
He is a member of the Oxford and Cambridge Club of Belgium, the American Bar Association (ABA), the International Bar Association (IBA), the Global Forum for Cross-Border Human Resource experts (XBHR), the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) in Belgium and the American Employment Law Council (AELC).
Filip is mentioned by The International Who's Who of Management Labour and Employment Lawyers, Legal 500 EMEA and Chambers & Partners Europe as leading expert in the area of Employment law, Compensation & Benefits.
He has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1990.
Filip holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge (England, 1999-2000). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and a College Level lecturing diploma from the KU Leuven (Belgium, 1990). In addition, he was a participant in the ERASMUS Program of Studies related to Social Security in the European Community in Leuven (Belgium, 1989-1990).
