Emma specializes in (European) customs law. Her practice comprises of advising on a large variety of customs and excise related issues, including customs valuation, tariff classification, origin and compliance. She assists clients in restructuring and/or optimizing of customs/ excise processes and supply chains, including applying for authorizations, such as AEO. She is specialized in litigation with Dutch and EU courts and regularly assists clients with customs audits and appeal procedures. Next to this, Emma is working as a teacher/lecturer in customs law at the Maastricht University where she is also enrolled as PhD candidate. Emma often acts as speaker at conferences.
