Nadia Riahi
Associate - Attorney at Law
Nadia Riahi, attorney at law, focuses on employment law and restructuring in the Brussels office of Loyens & Loeff, advising Belgian and international companies in both an advisory capacity and in litigation.
Nadia provides a day-to-day HR support to Belgian and international companies and payroll providers across a full range of individual and collective employment questions (individual terminations, non-compete and confidentiality obligations, employment status disputes and requalification proceedings, collective labour relations and trade union negotiations, social inspections, posting of foreign workers).
Nadia has a solid experience in restructuring, collective dismissals and insolvency. She assists employers throughout large-scale reorganisation processes, covering strategic scenario analysis, information and consultation procedures with employee representatives, and the negotiation of complex social plans. She has been involved in some of the most significant collective dismissal proceedings in Belgium in recent years, including advising in the context of an externalised social plan, with tailored measures for long-term sick employees and older workers and the implementation of supplements to social security benefits.
She is also well-versed in remuneration tax and employee incentives, assisting clients in the design and implementation of flexible reward structures (cafeteria plans, non-recurring performance-related benefits, warrant plans, federal mobility budget) with an integrated approach covering labour law, employment taxes and social security. Her practice in this area extends to financial institutions, including deferred compensation and the employment status of regulated persons (banks, payment institutions).
Beyond her advisory practice, Nadia is a recognised litigator. She was extraordinarily awarded the Best Speaker "Ole Due" Award after pleading before the judges of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, and received the Boels Price awarded by the French Order of the Brussels Bar, after having ranked first in the mandatory pleading examination amongst more than 300 participants.
