He has extensive experience in enforcement of foreign (arbitral) judgments or awards (especially for or against sovereigns) as well as in obtaining interim reliefs and protective measures or resisting to them. Abdel also advises and litigates on corporate law issues, including shareholder disputes, (proceedings on) directors' liability and inquiry proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber. Abdel is a member of the editorial board of a corporate law journal (Tijdschrift voor de Ondernemingsrechtpraktijk).

  • a national holding company in recognition and execution proceedings pending in the Netherlands involving assets of significant value.
  • Several international oil companies in a matter revolving the enforcement of a foreign arbitral award in the Netherlands.
