Together, BMG and Concord combine catalogues comprising more than four million songs, recordings and other creative works, spanning recorded music, music publishing and theatrical rights businesses across key markets worldwide.
The combination brings together two complementary global music businesses and creates a company with combined annual revenues of approximately USD 2.2 billion. The combined company operates under the BMG name and is owned 67% by Bertelsmann and 33% by Concord’s owners.
Our multidisciplinary team advised Concord throughout the transaction on the Dutch, Luxembourg and Swiss legal aspects, coordinating the local law workstreams across the three jurisdictions in support of the cross-border implementation of the combination.
The transaction demonstrates the importance of integrated legal support across jurisdictions when implementing complex international combinations.
