Mijke Sinninghe Damsté, attorney at law, is a member of the Litigation & Risk Management practice group.

Mijke has vast experience in advising and litigation on transaction related disputes, shareholders’ disputes, directors' liability, liability of financial institutions, class actions and collective settlement. Mijke also frequently acts as defence counsel in cartel damages cases. She represents clients in the relevant Dutch courts, including the Enterprise Chamber and the NCC. Mijke lectures regularly on corporate litigation, amongst others for the Grotius Academy. Mijke heads our Social Innovation Council, which sets targets and organises activities to promote diversity and inclusion within Loyens & Loeff. Mijke is a non-executive board member of Loyens & Loeff.
Work highlights include:
- representing a security agent in summary proceedings before the Netherlands Commercial Court in a dispute about the transfer of (pledged) shares in a large internationally operating shipbuilder
- representing an international logistics company in a dispute with a joint venture partner before the Enterprise Chamber
- litigation on parent company liability following the acquisition of a subsidiary by Private Equity
- advising groups of bondholders in litigation heavy international restructuring cases
Recent clients include: Bugaboo, BASF, Wintershall, York Capital, NS (Dutch Railway Company).
