Gieljan specialises in employment law. He deals with individual and collective employment law matters, both from a national and cross-border perspective. He advises and represents clients in various employment law related matters, such as employment and remuneration conditions, reward plans, sectoral regulations, employee representative bodies, dismissals, restructurings, transformation processes and supplementary pensions.

He previously worked as a legal counsel for the metal and textile division within a large trade union, where he acted both as employment law advisor and chief negotiator for collective bargaining agreements. Before that he worked several years as a trade union litigator for the legal service where he pleaded cases before the labour courts.

He joined Loyens & Loeff in 2022.
