New Executive Board for Loyens & Loeff

As of 24 April the Executive Board consists of Willem Jarigsma and Fred van der Leije.

The composition of the Executive Board of the tax and legal services provider Loyens & Loeff changes commencing 24 April 2014. Willem Jarigsma, attorney, has been named Managing Partner. He succeeds Maarten van der Weijden who acted as Managing Partner for four years.

Board Member Hamith Breedveld has reached retirement age. He is succeeded by tax adviser Fred van der Leije. Ed Schless, Director, will also retire. He has held this position in the Executive Board since 1999.

Christian Chéruy, attorney in Brussels, has been appointed as Chairman of the Board.

Willem Jarigsma (1967) was chair of the Banking & Finance practice group until the beginning of this year. He was also Chairman of the firm’s Opinion Committee. Willem has been with Loyens & Loeff for 20 years, first in Rotterdam, then in Singapore and Amsterdam.

Fred van der Leije (1964) is particularly active in the Dutch domestic tax practice, specifically with respect to high-net-worth individuals. Based in Rotterdam, he as also worked in the New York office of Loyens & Loeff.

Christian Chéruy (1959), tax lawyer, focuses on corporation tax and international tax law. He was previously head of the firm’s tax practice in Brussels and was also country managing partner of the firm’s office in Brussels.

Loyens & Loeff N.V. has a single-layer management model (one-tier board), consisting of executive and non-executive directors. Only a non-executive director can be Chairman of the entire Board.
