Loyens & Loeff appoints eight new partners
Reinforcing integrated tax and legal services
Amsterdam, 19 December 2016 - Loyens & Loeff, attorneys at law, tax advisers and civil law notaries has appointed the following colleagues to join as partner on 1 January 2017: Nicolas Bertrand, Ariane Brohez, Frank van Kuijk, Kim Lucassen, Margriet Lukkien, Koen Panis, Kris De Schutter and Martijn Schoonewille. With the appointment of these eight partners, the number of partners will rise to 110 on 1 January 2017 globally.

Nicolas Bertrand (1979), attorney at law, is a member of the Family Owned Business & Private Wealth practice group in Brussels. In an ever-changing and highly challenging environment, Nicolas has a very clear vision on the complex world of private wealth. His clients benefit from high-level advice on structuring assets, optimising family wealth and inheritances, and taxation. Ariane Brohez (1978), attorney at law, is a member of the Real Estate practice group in Brussels. Frank van Kuijk (1980), tax adviser, is a member of the International Tax Services practice group. He specialises in international tax law with a focus on Luxembourg. Frank is a tax adviser with a wealth of technical expertise, backed up by practical experience, who achieves excellent results from highly-complex subject-matters. Kim Lucassen (1979), attorney at law, is a member of the Litigation & Risk Management practice group. She specialises in regulated markets and international contracts. Kim an expert in the field of data protection and privacy law and leads the Benelux Data Protection and Privacy Team. She is one of the founders of the Loyens & Loeff Life Sciences team, which combines expertise on tax and legal matters focussed on the Life Sciences sector.
Margriet Lukkien (1980), tax adviser, is a member of the International Tax Services practice group in Amsterdam. She advises multinationals (particularly in North America), banks and sovereign wealth funds with regard to the entire spectrum of corporation tax and dividend tax; she specialises in international group structuring/restructuring. Margriet is very active in the tax section of the International Bar Association and secretary of the Commission for International Tax Affairs of the NOB. Clients appreciate her technical expertise in tax matters, as well as her extraordinary commitment.
Koen Panis (1982), attorney at law, is a member of the Banking & Finance practice group of Loyens & Loeff in Brussels. He specialises in finance transactions, with a focus on asset finance and project finance. Koen started his career at Loyens & Loeff in 2006. Kris De Schutter (1980), attorney at law, is a member of the Employment & Benefits practice group in Brussels.
