GDPR: 5 years later - A data protection revolution in progress (?)
Join us on 20 June 2023 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the EU GDPR.
Together with IBJ/IJE, Loyens & Loeff organises an in-person event “GDPR: 5 years later - A data protection revolution in progress”. We will discuss the (r)evolution in data protection law since the GDPR became effective on 25 May 2018.

A first panel discussion will focus on the continuous compliance exercise required to keep up with regulatory guidance and case law. How to ensure future-proof GDPR compliance documentation? How to organize internal processes? Some industry-representatives will share their experiences and best practices.
A second panel will highlight some of the most notable developments in GDPR case law and regulatory guidance in Loyens & Loeff’s home markets (the Benelux countries). A guest speaker will provide insight into the UK GDPR and developments in UK data protection law and guidance since Brexit.
We will close the event with a brief look at new (r)evolutions at the horizon: the AI Act, NIS II, ePrivacy, and the Swiss GDPR.
