Sophie Korteweg, forensic researcher, is a member of the Litigation & Risk Management practice group in our Amsterdam office. She conducts corporate investigations into irregularities, asset tracing and diligence.

About Sophie Korteweg

Sophie has conducted numerous corporate investigations and has advised many Dutch and multinational companies on (the investigation of) potential irregularities and possible measures to solve such issues. Her background in tax law provides her with additional knowledge that is useful in the growing number of investigations that need to be performed following information requests from the tax authorities. Sophie has broad experience with the use of innovative software that is used to structure and analyse large amounts of data.

Work highlights include representing:

  • Conducting a cross border investigation concerning a large fraudulent payment for a multinational company that is listed on the New York Stock Exchange
  • Conducting an investigation for a large construction company following an information request from the tax authorities, and representing this company in the negotiations that followed.
  • Conducting an investigation into certain cash flows for a telecom provider in a billion dollar creditor litigation.
