Loyens & Loeff advises VIVAT N.V. on the transaction whereby Chinese insurance company Anbang Group Holdings Co., Ltd. In a back-to-back transaction, VIVAT Schadeverzekeringen N.V., the non-life insurances business, has been on-sold to NN Group N.V. for 416 million euro, whereby Athora (based in Bermuda) retains the life insurance business of VIVAT N.V, as well as Actiam, its asset manager, and Zwitserleven, its pension insurance business. The transaction was signed on 7th June 2019 and closing is subject to conditions precedent, among which anti-trust and regulatory clearances as well as works council consultation.

Our team is being led by corporate M&A partner Ewout Stumphius and further comprises a range of specialists among whom Klaas Wiersma, Herman Kaemingk, Kitty Lieverse, Martijn Schoonewille, Marieke Kolsters, Bastiaan Cornelisse, Wilfred Groen, Anne Brugmans, Raphael Donkersloot, Pieter Schoenmakers, Joanne Zaaijer, Victor van Nuland, Youssef el Harchaoui, Pjotr Heemskerk and various others.
