Yassine is a member of the Loyens & Loeff VAT, customs and international trade practice group. He advises clients on indirect tax and regulatory aspects with regard to the international traffic of goods. He also represents clients before the authorities and courts as well as before the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union. Matters such as HS/CN Classification, Valuation, Origin, Excises, VAT, Export Controls and Economic Sanctions are part of his expertise.
Yassine writes articles regarding these areas for publication in various tax and legal journals and contributes to the World Trade Control Blog on a regular basis.
Yassine has been a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors since 2015. Moreover, he is a member of the Commission on Professional Competence (Commissie Vaktechniek) within this organization.
After participating in the Leiden Law School Honors Program, Yassine oriented himself to the study Tax Law of which he holds a master’s degree. In addition, he completed a specific course on indirect tax and international trade at VU University Amsterdam. Furthermore, he completed the Tariff and Trade Affairs course of the WCO Knowledge Academy in 2017.
