Nicolas co-heads the Family Owned Business and Private Wealth Practice Group of Loyens & Loeff in Belgium. He is also a member of the Automotive Team in Belgium.
Nicolas advises family owned companies on a wide range of international and domestic corporate tax issues including (cross border) corporate restructurings, double tax treaty matters, mergers and acquisitions, holding and financing structures, real estate, IP structures, or private equity partnerships.
His experience extends to advising high net worth individuals on wealth structuring, wealth optimisation techniques and inheritance planning, as well as on the fiscal consequences of immigration and emigration.
Another of his particular areas of expertise is the taxation of savings income and insurance contracts, as well as income from investment funds.
In addition, he is experienced in handling tax audits and tax disputes including negotiating settlements (ruling requests) with the Belgian tax authorities.
He is a regular speaker at conferences on tax matters.
Nicolas has been a member of the Brussels Bar (Ordre Français des Avocats) since 2003. He is also a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.
Nicolas holds a Law degree and a Master in Tax Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium, 2002 and 2003).
