Ahmed is a member of Loyens & Loeff’s Litigation & Risk Management Practice Group and Automotive Team in Belgium. He is also a member of the Japanese Desk, and completed an internship at a Japanese law firm.
He has extensive experience in corporate and finance litigation, and focuses on restructuring, (cross-border) insolvency and enforcement of security interests. He mainly represents financial sponsors, loan servicers, and corporate borrowers and issuers.
Ahmed is listed as a tier 1 "Next Generation Lawyer" in the Legal500 EMEA 2017 guide for dispute resolution, and recommended for his expertise in the field of Insolvency & Restructuring.
He is a teaching assistant in Commercial and Insolvency Law at the KU Leuven since January 2015.
Ahmed has been a member of the Brussels Bar (Nederlandstalige Orde van Advocaten) since 2009.
Ahmed received an LL.M. degree from the University of Michigan Law School (USA, 2013), where he was a Fulbright scholar and Grotius fellow, and holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the Universiteit Antwerpen (Belgium, 2009)
