Tim Vermeir specialises in regulatory law (utilities, export controls…), energy law and public procurement. He advises and assists major (energy) companies with regard to the regulatory aspects of the liberalisation of the energy market in Belgium. In addition, Tim advises and is involved in legal proceedings for governments and large companies with regard to public procurement issues and other public law matters.
After completing his studies, Tim worked in the legal department of London Electricity PLC where he was involved in the liberalisation of the distribution market for electricity and gas.
Tim is the author of a considerable number of publications in the energy law and public law domains. He is affiliated junior researcher to the Environment and Energy Law Institute at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and frequently gives lectures on energy law. He is also past president of the Young Bar Association of the Brussels Bar. |
