H. Tom van der Meer (1949), tax lawyer, heads the Amsterdam office. He is a member of the Tax practice group. He advises his international clientèle mainly on Dutch corporate income tax and dividend tax, both for regular clients as well as in transactions (referred by foreign law firms and existing clients). He is involved in cross-border transactions, in particular those involving the United States, Luxembourg and Italy. He specialises in international restructuring, construction, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. He assists clients in audits initiated by the tax service and in discussions with tax authorities and the Ministry of Finance as to advance tax rulings and transfer pricing issues.
Tom is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and International Bar Association (IBA) and an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (AmCham). |
