| Pieter de Ridder (1960), tax lawyer, has been based in Asia since 1991. He works in the Singapore office and has become one of the regional tax experts in Asia. He has worked in Jakarta and Hong Kong from 1990 through 1995 and has been based in Singapore since 1996. He specialises in Asian tax planning and covers a wide variety of business sectors, ranging from financial institutions, venture capital businesses, investment fund managers, trading companies, real estate developers, manpower service companies and construction companies to retail businesses operating in one or more Asian countries. In this context, he works closely with local tax and legal experts in the various Asia Pacific countries.
Pieter is a frequent speaker at conferences on Asian tax matters and is also a guest lecturer on international tax law at the Vlekho Business School, Brussels, where he teaches Asian Tax Law. He is a board member of the Singapore branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) as well as a board member of the Tax Committee of the Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) representing Singapore. He has written several publications on Asian tax matters. He is a member of the China Desk. Since 2005 he is a member of the board of editors of the Asia Pacific Tax Bulletin. |
