| Bas Vletter (1960), attorney, is a member of the Corporate Law practice group. He specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets (public offers and IPOs), international and national joint ventures and private equity. He has acted as legal adviser in several high-profile private and public transactions, including the first successful public hostile bid in the Netherlands.
He has acted as counsel to Apax in the acquisition of the multimedia group Versatel, the NYSE in its merger with Euronext and Bain Capital in the acquisition of Philips Semi Conductors jointly with KKR, Silver Lake, Apax and Alpinvest.
He headed the London office from 2001 through August 2006.
Bas is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Commercial Law Association and the Association for Securities Law. He has lectured and published on a number of corporate law-related matters, such as distressed M&A, capital protection, anti-takeover devices and the thirteenth EC Directive, shareholders' and directors liability and MBOs and LBOs. |
