Within the framework of the single European market, the European regime for undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) was launched by Directive 85/611/EEC dated 20 December 1985 relating to undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (the UCITS I Directive), and was implemented in Luxembourg by the law dated 30 March 1988 relating to undertakings for collective investment.
