Loyens & Loeff Russia/CIS DeskThe Russia/CIS Desk is one of the international desks maintained by Loyens & Loeff. It is the platform within our firm where – through our longstanding experience – we have pooled a profound knowledge of both inbound and outbound transactions with respect to Russia and the CIS states. The history of the Russia/CIS Desk goes back to the early nineties. Since then, Loyens & Loeff has employed lawyers with a broad knowledge of the market and the legal system of the Russian Federation and the CIS states. In 2005, the Russia/CIS Desk was given a new boost by further expanding the desk with new members from Loyens & Loeff’s various practice groups and teams. The members of the desk frequently travel to Russia and the CIS states to meet our clients and other contacts in the region. The Loyens & Loeff Russia/CIS Desk comprises a team of enthusiastic attorneys and tax lawyers with extensive experience in advising clients on transactions relating to the Russian/CIS market. The members of the Desk strongly focus on Russian/CIS clients that invest or trade in Europe or other regions, as well as on international companies and financial institutions that want to expand their businesses to Russia and the CIS states. The team is made up of members of various Loyens & Loeff practice groups. The experience of the members as regards the Russian/CIS market is combined with their extensive knowledge of international tax law, corporate structuring, banking and securities law, employment law and regulatory law, and so on. In addition to being part of the Russia/CIS Desk, the members also participate in Loyens & Loeff teams that focus on specific industries and sectors, such as energy (including oil & gas), real estate, corporate finance and financial products. The Russia/CIS Desk pools the knowledge of its members gained in the various areas of domestic and international legal and tax practice with their expertise in a large number of industries and their experience in the Russian/CIS market.
