Jack W. Berk (1957), attorney at law, a senior partner in the Corporate practice group, is the resident corporate partner of Loyens & Loeff in New York.  Before his relocation to New York, Jack has been particularly active in the Investment Management / Funds group, advising on fund structuring, fund formation, fund governance, and fund investments, mainly for buy-out, infrastructure and life sciences funds.  An M&A lawyer originally, private equity and venture capital M&A has continued to be a substantial part of his practice.  With educational roots in accountancy, Jack has a special interest in financially complex transactions and financial reporting law.  He is a founding member of the firm's Financial reporting law team.

In New York, Jack manages a team of lawyers focusing on outbound M&A into Europe, international corporate structures, investment fund structuring and formation, and banking and finance.  The New York office advises on Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg) law, and on the laws of the Dutch Caribbean area (formerly the Netherlands Antilles).

Jack is admitted to the Amsterdam, the Netherlands Bar, the Vice-Chair of the Investment Funds Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) (formerly Committee I), a member of the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association, a member of the New York State Bar Association, a member of the Vereniging Jaarrekeningenrecht (the Netherlands financial reporting law association), and a very early LinkedIn adopter (no. 194098).

Jack is recognized as a leading practitioner in The International Who's Who of Private Fund Lawyers, and is included in the Spotlight table (USA) of the 2011 Chambers Global Client's Guide
