Loyens & Loeff advised Volkswagen AG in negotiations with Fleet Investments BV on participation in LeasePlan Corporation and the related joint venture. Fleet Investments, an investment company belonging to German banker Friedrich von Metzler, acquires a 50% stake in LeasePlan. Volkswagen retains the other 50%. LeasePlan is the European market leader in car leasing and fleet management. Volkswagen’s current partners, the Saudi Arabia-based Olayan Groep and Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Company, decided to dispose of their stake in LeasePlan at the end of 2008.  Loyens & Loeff advised Volkswagen in that matter also. The team consisted of Freek Jonkhart, Renée Alberts, Renske Doornink and Hendrik Portengen.
