Michiel specialises in international tax planning relating to reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, structured finance, joint ventures and partnerships.

He advises internationally operating corporate clients, (real estate) private equity and investment funds on all areas of Dutch and Luxembourg taxation. In addition to advising US based clients, Michiel has considerable experience in advising Italian and Latin American based clients.

Michiel is a member of the US Region Team. He visits the region on a frequent basis and headed the tax practice in the New York office of Loyens & Loeff from 2012 to 2017. He is a regular speaker on International tax conferences.
