Energy (Network & Supply)

The Energy Team of Loyens & Loeff provides unparalleled experience and know how in the field of downstream energy law. The team, led by Max Oosterhuis, has been involved in this part of the sector for more than twenty years. Our experience varies from tariff regulation related to transportation and storage of power and gas to all regulatory aspects concerning mergers and acquisitions of energy corporations. The team has broad experience in civil litigation in numerous cases related to the procurement of energy. It has furthermore acted on behalf of energy distribution companies in various (administrative) disputes against the Dutch energy regulator, the Energy Chamber of the Dutch Competition Authority, since the entry into force of the Dutch Electricity Act 1998 and Gas Act.

We furthermore advise our clients on all relevant issues with respect to renewables, CO2-emission rights trading and incentive programmes; on issues related to network connection for central and regional (e.g. wind) power generation; on access regimes applicable to gas storage and LNG; and on all relevant contractual arrangements with respect to the production and / or supply of power, gas, (bio)fuels, heat and water.
