Bernard Vanbrabant, attorney, is a member of the Commercial Law department. He specializes in civil and commercial law, and in contract and property law in particular, whether material (law of property) or intellectual (author’s rights/copyright, trade marks, models and designs, patents). His practice is geared towards the drafting and review of contracts, legal advice and litigation. He has several years’ worth of experience in the field of supreme court procedure and regularly works in collaboration with a law firm that is specialized in this kind of litigation.
Bernard is also senior lecturer at the Université de Liège, where he teaches intellectual property law to law, biochemistry and engineering sciences students.
He is currently drafting a doctoral thesis on the legal and proprietary nature of intellectual property rights. He has authored several publications on goods, evidence and intellectual property, notably works on time-sharing and on licensing agreements (with Yves Van Couter).
Bernard is a member of the ICT & Media Law Team of the Brussels office.
He is a member of the Brussels and Liège bars.
