Thomas Chelllingsworth (1973), attorney, is counsel in the Energy & Utilities and EU, Competition & Regulatory departments. He is also member of the Loyens & Loeff’s Renewable Energy Projects Team. His practice includes all aspects of regulatory law in the liberalised industries, with a particular focus on the energy sector. He regularly advises on issues regarding market opening, unbundling, network tariffs and system access, and is frequently involved in civil and administrative litigation in this respect.
In addition, Thomas has extensive experience of competition law proceedings, including over two dozen merger filings before the European, Dutch and Belgian competition authorities. He is the author of numerous publications on competition law. Before joining Loyens & Loeff in 2010, Thomas was a senior associate at another major international firm. He is member of the Brussels Bar.
