Marco J. de Lignie (1964), tax lawyer, is a member of the Tax practice group and is head of the Private Equity team. He is specialised in all tax aspects of fund formation and carried interest structuring and acts frequently as tax counsel in buyout and venture capital transactions. He also acts as tax counsel in M&A, corporate restructuring, and structured finance transactions, with special focus on US, UK, and Dutch multinational groups. He worked in the New York office from 1994 through 1996.

Marco is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the EVCA tax & legal committee. He is also a member of the fiscal committee for the NVP, the Dutch Association for Investment Funds. He is a frequent speaker at seminars on the tax aspects of leveraged buyouts and carried interest planning and has written various articles on these topics.
