Bert Gevers is a member of our VAT, Customs & International Trade practice group and is currently based in our Brussels office.

Bert joined Loyens & Loeff in 2000. He advises on global trade-issues and customs & VAT-aspects related to the international & domestic traffic of goods and services. Matters such as European preferential trade measures, trade defense mechanisms, customs valuation, origin, classification, duty saving scenarios, compliance issues, excise duties and VAT are well known to him. Whithin the Benelux, Bert takes care of specific Belgian & Luxembourg legal and operational elements. With his specific knowledge on domestic procedures, Bert has become a true expert within the corporate Benelux challenge of Loyens & Loeff. From 2006 until January 2007, Bert was based in the Singapore office from where he advised Asian companies doing business in Europe.

Bert is a Lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and he is a member of the Brussels bar.
