Yves Van Couter

Yves Van Couter, attorney, is in charge of the Commercial Law department. He is also in charge of the Food & Beverages Team and of the IP, ICT & Media Law Team of the Brussels office. He specialises in (international) commercial law, and in intellectual property law (including technology transfers and trade mark licensing), distribution law (including franchise law) and market practices (including advertising, labeling and packaging) in particular. He advises his clients in these fields and represents them in court in litigation relating to these topics.
Yves also teaches intellectual property law at the Brussels Institute for Contemporary China Studies (BICCS) in the framework of Investing in Europe - the Benelux as a gateway, a studies program organized by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Yves is an arbitrator with the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva and with the CEPANI (Centre Belge d'Arbitrage et de Médiation) in Belgium. He has authored several publications on commercial contracts and intellectual property law.
He is a member of the Brussels bar.
