Leading the field in Chambers Europe
Loyens & Loeff holds on to its top ranking position in the legal service provision sector. This emerges in the Chambers Europe Guide 2010. In the Tax category, we prolonged our 'tier 1' ranking. Chambers says: "With over 400 specialists, the team at Loyens & Loeff dominates the Dutch tax scene. […] With such a well-staffed operation, the firm offers advice across the complete spectrum of taxation."

We also achieved ‘tier 1’ rankings in the categories Investment Funds, Real Estate, and Transportation: Shipping Advisory. Moreover Chambers commends us in the new category Real Estate: Zoning & Planning, awarding us a tier 1 ranking in this category as well. As regards Investment Funds, Chambers was impressed by Loyens & Loeff, saying: "Thanks to its superb tax capabilities and assistance from its corporate, banking and real estate teams, this firm can field an ‘excellent support team’ to address the numerous complications in establishing a fund." Excellent rankings in Chambers Global
Loyens & Loeff has once again achieved excellent rankings in the Chambers Global Guide 2010. In the Corporate/M&A category, Loyens & Loeff stood out thanks to its combination of “corporate M&A expertise with high-level tax advice”. Our firm's Dutch offices thereby scored an impressive ‘tier 2’ ranking. In the categories Banking & Finance and Restructuring/Insolvency, Loyens & Loeff Netherlands earned a ‘tier 3’ ranking, just like the office did in the category Dispute Resolution. Clients said that our “tactical decisions are spot-on”.

Good results in IFLR1000
In 2009, Loyens & Loeff’s rankings in the IFLR1000 (International Financial Law Review) are just as good as last year’s results. Our competitiveness is growing: "We're seeing them more and more. They're much more dangerous competitors”. Our corporate culture is also commended: “They're down-to-earth, straightforward and have a good sense of humour. They're focused on getting things done".

The IFRL1000 provides rankings and analysis based on objective research of the world’s leading financial and law firms. The IRFL1000 specialises in corporate finance and transactional law.

Partners picked for ‘Best Lawyers’
Fifteen Dutch partners at Loyens & Loeff have been selected as the ‘Best Lawyers’ by their peers, as listed on the www.bestlawyers.com website. This list is published in professional journals such as ‘Corporate Counsel’ and ‘The American Lawyer’ and in the publications ‘The Washington Post’, ‘The Los Angeles Times’ and ‘New York Magazine’.

‘Best Lawyers’ is one of the oldest peer-review publications in the United States. Leading professionals judge which attorneys belong to the crème de la crème in their professional practice.

Highest ranking for tax advice
Loyens & Loeff scores the highest for tax advice in the Netherlands in International Tax Review’s World Tax 2010 edition. This confirms we have an international network and a leading reputation. Loyens & Loeff’s tax practice covers all the areas of tax.

High scores in the Legal 500 rankings 
In 2009, Loyens & Loeff is once again proud of its high rankings in the Legal 500. Just like in 2008, our office scores the highest ranking in the Tax category. Legal 500 is impressed by our "tremendous reputation for top-quality advisory work" and "technical excellence and practicality".

We also hold on to our 'tier 1' position in the Environment and Planning, Mediation, and Real Estate categories. As regards Environment and Planning, Legal 500 compliments us on our “broad spread of expertise” and our “impressive clients”. Loyens & Loeff is considered “a force in the real estate market with a team of 100 lawyers. The practice has considerable experience in the fund management and real estate industry, both from a tax and a legal perspective”. In the other categories, our overall performance also stays at the same high level.

Legal 500 publishes reviews and research on legal service providers from more than 100 countries.

The only Benelux law firm in the American Lawyer Global 100
Loyens & Loeff is once again the only Benelux firm listed in the American Lawyer Global 100. We are in 83th place with a turnover of USD 439 million.

High rankings in Mergermarket League Tables
In the Mergermarket Benelux League Table 2009, based on the number of transactions, Loyens & Loeff is ranked second. In the European League Table 2009, based on the number of transactions, Loyens & Loeff stands out as the only Benelux law firm in the top 20.

The League Tables published by Mergermarket cover the period from 1 January through 31 December 2009.

Best M&A firm
Loyens & Loeff was named Best M&A firm and received a Golden Hourglass award. The award was presented at the official presentation of the KSU publication De Stand van de Advocatuur 2009.

The award for best M&A firm is based on information from OverFusies.nl's merger and acquisitions database. It is handed out to the law firm which advised on the largest number of deals.

Once again number 1 in real estate
For the fourth year running, Loyens & Loeff emerges as number 1 in the real estate lawyers rankings set up by the trade magazine PropertyNL. Loyens & Loeff heads the list way ahead of the rest.

The study was carried out among more than 40 law firms and civil law notary offices. PropertyNL looked at the total transaction values of the firms in 2008.

Best Employer in the Netherlands for the second time
In 2009, for the second consecutive time, Loyens & Loeff was elected Best Employer. With a score of 8.4 for employee satisfaction, we come out top in the large-organisation category (more than 1,000 employees).

The Best Employer Survey was compiled by the market research bureau Effectory and Volkskrant Banen.

Favourite employer among law students
Once again, Loyens & Loeff has turned out to be the favourite employer among law students. This emerged from the Ebbinge Studenten Onderzoek Nederland survey. Loyens & Loeff was the students' favourite in 2008 as well.

The Ebbinge Studenten Onderzoek Nederland survey illustrates the expectations, ambitions and preferences of final-year graduates or recent graduates.

Favourite law firm among law students
Law graduates in the Netherlands prefer to start work in the legal profession and they choose Loyens & Loeff rather than other firms. They also consider Loyens & Loeff to be the most ‘recession-proof’ law firm.
