On 18 February 2010 Loyens & Loeff will be organising the seminar ‘Governance of pension funds’ in Dutch (‘Governance van pensioenfondsen’).
During this seminar prof. dr. Theo Nijman, a member of the Commission Future-proofedness Supplementary Pension Regulations (Commissie Toekomstbestendigheid Aanvullende Pensioenregelingen), will explain the conclusions of the Commission’s report which will be published just before the seminar. He will discuss issues such as whether the current pension system is future-proof. Which solutions can make the system resistant to financial shocks? Which part do the supervisory authorities and stakeholders have in this?
After that prof. dr. Fieke van der Lecq will discuss ‘changes in the pension markets’. She will talk about the developments in the pension markets and explain the conclusions of the Commission's report.
Afterwards you can take part in various breakout sessions in Dutch on the following subjects:
- ‘(Investment) Control framework’ to comply with the requirements of governance
- ‘Lessons learned’ in investment management
- Scope of branch pension regulations
- Institution for Occupational Retirement Provision (IORP) / Multi-corporate pension funds
