Loyens & Loeff appointed four new partners as of 1 January 2012: Frédéric Franckx, (corporate), Judith Raijmakers (Banking & Finance), Johan Terblanche (Investment Management) and Vassiliyan Zanev (Banking & Finance).
Fréderic Franckx, attorney, Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg
Frédéric Franckx is a member of the Corporate practice of Loyens & Loeff. Frédéric specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and group restructuring matters, securities regulations and banking and finance matters. He represents clients in equity offerings and listing matters, advises on takeover matters and is also very active in downstream (acquisition structuring) private equity work. Before joining Loyens & Loeff in Luxembourg, Frédéric worked for six years in the Corporate & Finance Department of one of Belgium’s largest full-service law firms in Brussels. He was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2001 and is also a member of the Luxembourg Bar (List IV).
Judith Raijmakers, attorney, Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg
Judith Raijmakers is a member of the Banking & Finance practice. She specialises in banking and finance law, and acts for lenders, borrowers, equity funds and sponsors in various types of cross-border finance transactions, including acquisition financing, debt (re)structurings, project financing, asset financing and corporate restructurings. She also advises on regulatory law related to banks and financial professionals. Before joining Loyens & Loeff, Avocats à la Cour, Judith worked for 8 years in the Amsterdam and Paris offices of a major global law firm. Judith was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 2000 and to List IV of the Luxembourg Bar.
Johan Terblanche, attorney, Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg
Johan Terblanche is a member of the Investment Management practice. He specialises in advising both managers and investors of collective investment funds with special focus on alternative funds. He has been practising in the area of collective investment since 1998. In addition to his experience in Luxembourg, Johan worked five years in the British Virgin Islands. Johan is an active member of several working groups of the Association for the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) and the Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (LPEA). He regularly speaks at conferences and funds events and publishes articles in several industry publications. He was admitted to List IV of the Luxembourg Bar.
Vassiliyan Zanev, attorney, Loyens & Loeff Luxembourg
Vassiliyan Zanev is a member of the Banking & Finance practice. He specialises in banking and finance, including in particular securitisation, structured finance, capital markets, lending, debt restructuring and regulatory work. Prior to joining Loyens & Loeff, he acquired three years of banking and finance experience in a major UK-based law firm in Luxembourg. Vassiliyan was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 2003.
