Arco Bobeldijk awarded a doctorate

Arco Bobeldijk has been awarded a doctorate following his dissertation ‘Afgewaardeerde vorderingen in de vennootschapsbelasting’ (“Written-down claims in corporation tax”). Many people were present at his doctoral ceremony in the Senaatszaal at the University of Utrecht on 20 November. “The issues concerning written-down claims have been around for a long time. Now, due to the wide-spread effects of the financial crisis, they are particularly relevant for us all”, says Bobeldijk. Having examined and compared the Vpb (Corporation Tax Act) regulations in his dissertation, he recommends harmonising and improving them.

Mr.dr. A.C.P. Bobeldijk is a partner and tax lawyer at Loyens & Loeff N.V. in Amsterdam and a member of the Tax law group at the University of Utrecht. He studied tax business economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, tax law at the Catholic University of Brabant and European Fiscal Studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition to his corporate tax practice, Arco lectures at the University of Utrecht and at the NIVRA and PAOB and is a regular speaker at seminars. He set up the Loyens & Loeff Tax Mastercourse for corporate tax lawyers.
