Loyens & Loeff assisted EDF, the French electricity group, in the acquisition of Centrica's 51% stake in SPE, the second Belgian electricity group, advising on all corporate, M&A and regulatory matters. The transaction reinforces EDF's position in the Benelux. Completion of the acquisition is expected to take place towards the end of the third quarter of 2009.
