CSR

Apart from its usual services as a law firm, Loyens & Loeff has an active corporate social responsibility. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) implies, at the very least, that you take into account the non-financial aspects of your organisation. Caring for the environment and for our own people as well as for society – these are our concerns too, as a professional organisation.

We are mainly concerned with pro bono work (community investment). Loyens & Loeff approaches public benefit organisations in a proactive way, aiming to provide them with significant help through our know-how and expertise. Company employees may also submit suggestions for whom to help. Obviously Loyens & Loeff will not be able to act on every request submitted. Our Pro Bono Commission evaluates which cases are taken on based on a number of criteria.

Independently of our external social responsibilities, we take responsibility within our organisation too. This year, among other things, we are determining our CO2 footprint for our Dutch offices. This influences our policy which is geared towards reducing the amount of energy and paper used, reducing the usage of airplanes and cars and purchasing environmentally friendly products. All in all, a lighter burden on our environment.

On a social level, we also have our responsibilities. For example, we are integrating our CSR policy in our training classes (Academy) and continuing our HR policy on advancing diversity in the firm.
