India Desk

Indian investors are making a name for themselves worldwide. And Loyens & Loeff is ready for them. After China, India is the fastest growing economy in the world. It has 1.1 billion people, a steadily expanding industry and a flourishing IT sector. Helped by low wages and highly qualified workers, India is also successfully attracting the interest of Western companies. Equally well, Indian companies are looking beyond their own borders. That makes India an exciting prospect for Loyens & Loeff.

Developing markets, such as India’s, feature in Loyens & Loeff’s strategic investment plans abroad. It has always been part of our strategy to be close to these markets. That is one of the most important reasons for the introduction of a specialised team of professionals from different offices and practice groups to focus on India. Members of Loyens & Loeff’s India Desk have been active in the Indian market for almost ten years. This means that our team – comprising M&A /corporate lawyers and tax advisers – has acquired specialised knowledge of cross-border investment structures for Indian inbound and outbound investments.

The India Desk is a multidisciplinary team: it comprises corporate lawyers and tax advisers from our Amsterdam, Brussels, Luxembourg, Rotterdam and Singapore offices, with everyone experienced in advising clients on international transactions, and the Indian market in particular. To satisfy the international demand for advising services, our India Desk members cooperate closely with prominent law firms in India, Europe and the United States. Through this cooperation, we can offer our clients top-level advice worldwide and effectively and seamlessly structure and handle cross-border matters.
